My story

I came of age musically in Stillwater, Oklahoma in the early nineties playing with a redneck hippie jam band called Medicine Show. Along the way I played shows, after hours jams and wrote songs with Wink Burcham, Randy Crouch, The Red Dirt Rangers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Cody Canada, Jason Boland, Monica Taylor, Great Divide, Mike McClure, Stoney Larue, Bob Childers, Tom Skinner, Brandon Jenkins, Jimmy LaFave, Greg Jacobs, Evan Felker, John Fullbright,  Bill Erickson, Mike Shannon (The Daddy'O that first introduced me to many of these mighty mythical archetypes)  and many others too numerous to list here. The influence all these folks had on my musical values is vast and unknowable to me. I shudder to think what kind of songs I might have written  without their examples as inspiration. I took twenty years off and raised an incredible daughter but never stopped writing down songs as they intruded on my consciousness.

Truth & Beauty

Scott Dormis Evans debut solo album is available now on all streaming platforms,

CDs and Vinyl albums will be coming soon.

In October of 2020 Wink Burcham and I converted an apartment over an old gas station in Spavinaw Oklahoma (thanks John Knotts) into a makeshift recording studio and started recording my debut solo album. Dustin Pittsley played drums, Annie Paine played stand up bass, I played the acoustic rhythm and Wink overdubbed electric leads and rhythm guitars. From there we added tracks from friends John Fullbright, Kurt Neilsen, John Williams, Buffalo Rogers, Roger Ray, Anne Berry, Corey Mauser, I took all these tracks to Red Cat Audio studio in my hometown of Bartlesville Oklahoma and mixed it all down with Donnie Wood who also contributed a vocal harmony. I hope you like it and I can't wait to get started on the next one.
